The Puget Sound Ship Repair Association is comitted to providing the most current, up to date professional training courses available.
Training initatives top the list of key objectives to be achieved by our various committee working groups. Currently they are working to develop standardized training programs for qualifications such as Fork Lift Operator and Man Lift Operator. Once developed, these standard programs will be submitted to the Navy for approval as an Association Training Program. Upon approval, all Association members will be able to avial themselves of the programs and share trained resources between member companies.
Additional efforts are underway to develop the methodology for a sharing of more technical certifications such as "Welder/Brazier, Plural Component Painter, PCMS Tile Remove/Install, Abrasive Blaster, etc.; between member companies. This methodology is being defined through the joint efforts of member and government committee participants.
Through the Association, you will be able to obtain affordable seats at PSSRA sponsored training events such as SSPC C-7 classes, PCMS Tile Certification Classes, etc.
Lastly we are developing a means for member companies to advertise training opportunities within their own organizations. If a member company sponsors a specific training course, they can advertise the dates and numbers of seats available for other member companies. This will enable the sponsor company to reduce their out of pocket training expenses through sharing the cost with other association members.
